The Best Time of Year to Visit Las Vegas

People ask us this all the time, and our honest answer is that there is no single best time to visit Las Vegas – it depends on what you want out of the trip. Still, some seasons are far more comfortable than others.

Spring and Fall Are the Sweet Spots

If we could only travel during two windows, we would pick March through May and September through November. The desert air is warm during the day and pleasant at night, which makes walking the Strip actually enjoyable. Pool season is in full swing without the brutal midday heat of summer.

Summer Is Hot, But Cheaper

June through August brings serious heat. We are talking triple-digit days where stepping outside feels like opening an oven. The upside is that many hotels are more affordable, and the pools become the main event. If you plan to lounge by the water and dart between air-conditioned casinos, summer can work.

Winter Is Quieter and Cooler

December and January are mild, sometimes chilly at night. Crowds thin out except around the holidays and big events. We love winter for indoor experiences – shows, spas, and long dinners.

Our Advice

  • Want to be outside comfortably? Aim for spring or fall.
  • Chasing pool time on a budget? Summer is your season.
  • Prefer smaller crowds? Try midweek in winter.

Whenever you come, book early and check the local event calendar, since big weekends fill fast and push prices up.
