10 Free Things to Do in Las Vegas

Vegas will happily take your money, but the city is also packed with genuinely great free experiences. Here are ten we send everyone to.

  1. The Bellagio fountains. Still the best free show on the Strip. Shows run every 15–30 minutes after dark.
  2. The Conservatory at Bellagio. A giant seasonal garden that gets completely redone five times a year.
  3. Fremont Street’s Viva Vision canopy. A four-block LED ceiling downtown with hourly light shows.
  4. The Venetian’s Grand Canal. Wander the indoor canals and St. Mark’s Square without paying for a gondola.
  5. Flamingo wildlife habitat. Real flamingos, koi, and turtles tucked behind the casino.
  6. The Park. An outdoor promenade between T-Mobile Arena and New York-New York, anchored by the Bliss Dance statue.
  7. Aria’s fine art walk. Museum-grade public art scattered through CityCenter.
  8. The Wynn/Encore Esplanade. Window-shop the most beautiful mall in town for free.
  9. Circa’s exterior + downtown murals. The revitalized downtown is an open-air gallery now.
  10. A sunset from a high floor. Ride up to a hotel bar, order nothing, and watch the desert light do its thing.

String four or five of these together and you’ve got a full, memorable day that cost you a bottle of water.
