Where to Watch the Bellagio Fountains (and When)

The Bellagio fountains are the one thing almost every visitor sees — and almost everyone watches from the exact same crowded stretch of sidewalk. A little strategy makes it dramatically better.

The timing

Shows run every 30 minutes in the afternoon and every 15 minutes after dark, typically from mid-afternoon until midnight. Nighttime shows are the ones you want — the lights make all the difference.

The best vantage points

  • The sidewalk rail is the default. Arrive a few minutes early to get the front.
  • The bridge to the Cosmopolitan gives you a slightly elevated, less-crowded angle.
  • A fountain-view restaurant or bar is the splurge move — you’re paying for the seat, and it’s worth it once.
  • A high floor at the Cosmopolitan turns the whole thing into a private show.

Insider notes

Every show is choreographed to a different song, so if you loved one, stick around — the next one is completely different. And on windy days the fountains sometimes run a reduced show or pause entirely for safety, so don’t panic if the schedule slips.

It never gets old. We’ve seen it a hundred times and we still stop.
